Weaving

The Balaangala weaving group has been meeting since 2015. The group grew out of two workshops the group hosted, facilitated by Cultural Worker Danny Doyle.

Some of the participants of these workshops wanted to continue to meet to practice and share their skills, using local native plants and exotic weeds to create baskets and sculptural pieces. The “weaving circle” happens several times a year.

Members of the weaving circle also organize a couple of workshops a year for beginners. There is a fee for these workshops.

To find out when the next weaving circle or the next teaching workshop is on, please email balaangalathegap@gmail.com or submit your email via the “Contact Us” page.
